Gym Class Etiquette_Schedule for Week of September 18, 2016

Although, we had our laughs today, there was some noticeable missing faces. Faces that have been missing for a month, a couple of weeks and just today. I knew what these people were missing: injury, car accident, strong workout yesterday... The Cowboy Game. Then, there was one face that I hadn't seen in a week. The last time I spoke with this person, she had a disturbing encounter in the gym. Was this keeping her from the gym? I was a little frustrated and wanted to post some etiquette rules.

Change is coming. Change is inevitable. Whether it is the seasons (hello cooler temps and changing of the leaves) or something bigger; CHANGE HAPPENS! Recently I decided to invoke change based upon the inspiration of some of my students, clients and colleagues. I saw how they were bettering themselves and I was asking myself, "Am I the BEST version of myself that I can be?"

Naps, Carbs and Trash TV_Schedule for the Week of August 15, 2016

Naps.... Naps, carbs and trash TV. That is mostly what my staycation consisted. Don't get me wrong, we had some great family bonding time, but there was a great deal of naps, carbs and trash TV. I know the hubby fully embraced staycation mode when he actually crawled into our bed to take a nap instead of just taking a 20 minute cat nap on the couch. This was on day two of staycation.

Strong Arm August Challenge

I think that was the mentality that went behind our voters' mindsets when they decided upon arms for this month's challenge. I was pretty excited, but nervous. Other trainers in the group had the same concern as I did. Would this challenge exclude people who don't own weights or don't have a gym membership? Never fail! What Comfort Zone? Schedule for the Week of July 4, 2016

I remembered what I tell my students, "Change comes outside of your comfort zone." If I am not able to live up to that, how do I expect my students to do the same? It wasn't easy. Finding the right way to learn the way to teach this format was the hardest part. Thankfully, I found a great mentor in my friend Alisa Lofton. She helped me find the right way to capture a pattern for me.

You Choose_Schedule for Week of May 30, 2016

Dr. Seuss discusses life as a "Great Balancing Act" in this book that was first published a year prior to his death at the age of eight-seven. As such, this "Great Balancing Act", as we know as life, is full of ups and downs and is presented in this books. We are faced with challenges and Dr. Seuss encourages us to find the determination within ourselves to face those challenges and come out successful.
