If you are not an early riser, we will be patient as we get into this new routine together. With all healthy habits, consistency is key. We can do this together! Let's rise and grind! Yes or yes?
So much has happened this week and I have been trying to keep everyone up to date. I didn't want to overwhelm my social media accounts; so I have been trying to spread the news throughout the week, but I still have been unable to share everything. We should be able to get you all caught up today!
I will continue to educate myself so that I can make my classes better for my students. And the next time someone calls me certifiable, I'll just smile and nod.
I want to say "thank you" to my wonderful students. This week was full of "UGH" moments.... All outside of the gym. The world "got me beat down." Ha, ha. I worked hard to take my own advice and not allow these incidents define my days.
I was lucky enough to attend high school and have a charismatic resource officer looking over our school, affectionately named "Officer Hoop". A few years after graduation, I would meet his wife. Heather Hooper would teach me many important lessons as I began my professional career. I would like to share one of those with you today.
Afterwards, I was able to speak to these wonderful women. I shared my journey with one woman. I explained that it was my husband that gave me the courage and encouraged me to quit my full-time corporate job and pursue fitness full throttle. And then she asked the question...
This week I have handed over my blog to a very special lady. She is a regular in my classes and always makes me laugh. Whether it is the faces that she gives me because she is working to her limit or her contagious smile, I look forward to seeing her (and frown inside when she isn't there). Last week she shared something with me and she has allowed me to share with all of you:
Change is coming. Change is inevitable. Whether it is the seasons (hello cooler temps and changing of the leaves) or something bigger; CHANGE HAPPENS! Recently I decided to invoke change based upon the inspiration of some of my students, clients and colleagues. I saw how they were bettering themselves and I was asking myself, "Am I the BEST version of myself that I can be?"
Did you notice something different on the schedule this week? I'll give you a hint... It's on Wednesday. That's right. Zumba® Gold is back on the schedule.
It's that time! Staycation have officially started. Guess what? I didn't make it! I was at my husband's company event that is held every year for family and I began talking about work! Face - to - palm. FAIL! One of the employees at the venue mentioned that it looked as I worked out and blah, blah, blah we began talking shop. His wife is a group exercise director for a popular gym chain in the South Dallas area. After a few minutes, I found myself looking around for hubby as I realized I just broke our number one staycation rule. Oopsie!
